FULL BIOGRAPHY

Nick Blatchley has been a writer since he was four, when he wrote his first "book", and he hasn't stopped since. On leaving school, he studied English and Greek at Keele University, after which his career followed a meandering path, taking in bookselling, residential care and media monitoring, not to mention working as everything from a packer to an artist's model.

He continued writing, and has had a novel published, as well as numerous short stories and poems, under the variation of his name Nyki Blatchley. During the 80s and 90s, he performed extensively on the London poetry and music scene, often backed by "the Invisible Band", actually his own pre-recorded music.

In March 2014, following redundancy, Nick changed course again into the ideal career that hadn't been available when he left school, a freelance copywriter. He set up Nick Blatchley Copywriting, and then started to learn how to run a business, as well as doing the writing.

The business has evolved a good deal since then, as he has learnt not only about writing marketing content, but also about the special skills he brings to it. Besides drawing on his experience of a wide range of sectors, Nick brings a lifetime of storytelling to offer businesses that have ranged from nutrition to industrial vacuum cleaners. His storytelling skills enable him to learn about the client's values and personality and to write in their voice.

At the same time, he has developed a wide network of business contacts and learnt the vital importance of cooperation within the small business world. Nick has also come to appreciate that personal values and ethics (ranging from environmental concerns to neuroinclusion) aren't separate from his business, they're what drives it.
